8th Annual G1 Studios Super Bowl Party

Number Eight is going to be Great!

Could this be the year that the Minnesota Vikings play in U.S. Bank Stadium for Super Bowl 52? It just might happen!  Bring friends & family to tailgate, play games and of course, cheer on the team of your choice (Skol! Vikings!) as we watch and celebrate our home town Super Bowl.

Doors will be open at 3pm and we’ll have hot chili, cold beer and new this year, an 80’s style arcade room with a few of your favorite childhood video games.

This year we are proud to support Open Arms of Minnesota, a fantastic non-profit that delivers fresh, nutritious meals to people struggling with cancer, HIV and other life-threatening illnesses.  We’ll have some great silent auction items and a Gluten Free Cereal Drive.  We hope you will join us and bring a box or two to support the great work that Open Arms does in our community.

A little recap of last year’s party.

2016 Super Bowl Party Recap

We’re All Winners Here

Football fans and fans of fun gathered Sunday, Feb. 7th at Gamut One Studios for our 6th Annual Super Bowl party blow out.  With the game blasted up onto our 35’ cove ‘screen’, a plethora of spicy and savory chilis, hot-off-the-grill brats, ice cold beverages and a super cool kids’ party space—the party offered fun for everyone!

The feel good time was about more than the pick up truck full of beer on our studio floor or the 9 varieties of chili — it was a night to help those in need.  Once again Gamut One Studios selected a local charity to benefit from the night. This year we supported The Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, that works to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families. They support families in crisis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through a free, voluntary service.

Clients, friends and family generously donated items to create a stellar silent auction that along with donations, raised over $2,000 as well as a truck full of much needed nursery supplies!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Super Bowl party without Gamut One Studios’ famous Chili Cook Off!  Greg Kamin’s Smoked Andouille Sausage and Beef Chili took top honors this year but whispers of the Imperial Pumpkin Chili and Chili Verde were heard to be close contenders.

Some sweaty, sugared-up younger party-goers also raised the roof in Studio B with a giant bounce house accompanied by carnival games, prizes and candy galore.  All in all, time enjoyed with family and friends while raising money for a good cause left both Bronco and Panther fans alike as the night’s big winners.

2016Party
A special thank you to Myron Wolf and Cathy Monsoor who put in a ton of extra work to get the studio ready and prepping the food, which is always fantastic.  We also wish to thank our friends at Wild Wings, Zoom Works, Hunters Reserve, Frost River and Swedish Comfort for their generous donations that helped make our silent auction another great success!

XLVIII G1 – 4th Annual Super Bowl Party

Year number four, here we go!  Last year was a blast, great food, great friends and a ton of fun as we watched the Harbaugh brothers battle it out.  This year we hope the lights will stay on (at the stadium) and we’ll all be warmer than everyone at the big game!

Tailgating starts at 3pm and don’t forget to bring some non-perishable food items to help support the wonderful work of the Groveland Emergency Food Shelf.

Of course we’ll have the big game projected up in HD on our 35 ft. cove wall. There will be games, prizes and bring the kids to jump around in the inflatable obstacle course. Taste, enjoy, and vote on the abundance of homemade selections of chili, as we compete again for the coveted G1 Chili Pepper Award.  Can Greg be the first to repeat as Chili Champion?

Help our preparations with a RSVP on our party page.  We can’t wait to see everyone again!

Hangin’ with the Prez

Gamut One Studios had a brush with fame last Friday when photographers Jeff Schmieg and Dewey Koshenina had the unique opportunity to photograph President Barack Obama.  President Obama spent the mid-day touring and speaking at Honeywell while our swift and skillful photographers captured it all on camera.

The President has an extremely tight schedule, so when you are photographing him, you’ve got to be quick and on your game.   Gamut One Studios, a contracted Honeywell vendor, was brought in to photograph the President’s visit and provided Honeywell with over 400 press ready images within hours of the event.  Images were uploaded to a private web gallery where the Honeywell staff could quickly access and distribute images as needed for public relations, documentation and promotion.

Seeing how the whole White House machine operates behind the scenes was very interesting.  It was a complex process but most notably, a very well oiled machine that is highly choreographed for maximum efficiency and security.

As you can probably imagine, the day was full of protocol, politics and stoic secret service agents. That doesn’t phase Jeff, our ‘nerves of steel’ photographer who has smoothly photographed tactical response teams while expert marksmen pointed automatic weapons at him.  Provided with White House Press Pool credentials, Jeff followed the President as he toured parts of the manufacturing floor and met Honeywell employees.  Jeff was then allowed inside the rope-line to photograph the president up close during the speech.

Rubbing Elbows with the Associated Press and White House Staff photographers who cover the president every day brought new insight into the workings of this political operation.  Dewey photographed the event from the main press stage for another view point of the action.

Capturing the spark and excitement that people had when meeting President Obama made our job even better.  The kids (and many adults) in attendance were beyond excited… beaming with perma-grins as they showed off their autographs and photos while they soaked in the whole experience.

We got some cool press pool badges that make great souvenirs from the event.  I think Jeff and Dewey will wear them all week…you just never know when you may want to impress someone!

A “Giant” Super Bowl Party

Our second annual Super Bowl Party on Feb. 5th, 2012 was a “Giant” success. We wanted to recap it here in case you missed our Facebook album post just a few days after the party.

The Giants defeated the Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI, which gave the Giants their fourth Super Bowl title. The game was action packed and even BIGGER than life as shown on our 35-foot cove wall.

Over 215 guests enjoyed our large selection of tailgating fare including nachos, brats, hot dogs, and of course our selection of almost 10 chili varieties. The Gamut One Chili Cook Off is a highly anticipated savory event where our guests taste, enjoy, taste some more and then vote on their favorite chili selections.

GOLDEN CHILI PEPPER AWARD

The chili varieties were outstanding this year, but only one could be crowned as winner. The 2012 Golden Chili Pepper Award goes to Dewey Koshenina for his Spicy Chicken & Mushroom White Chili.

When asked about what made his winning chili so special, Dewey proudly responded that his recipe is not for the lighthearted. “Chili should make your tongue scream for your Mommy,” Dewey said with a grin.

Dewey beat out 8 other entries, including the 2011 winning recipe by Bill Bartlett.

FAMILY FUN

As always, the Gamut One party is family friendly. With face painting, basketball, and of
course the bouncy obstacle course, all the kids had a blast!

VIP LOUNGE

Thank you to all who supported Beyond the Yellow Ribbon with your silent auction bids for the VIP Lounge as well as purchasing raffle tickets. Your support has made a difference with this great organization and the lives of our troops.

GAMUT ONE PHOTO BOOTH

This is always a big hit for our party. The expressions and posing creativity of the kids is always a blast! If you would like an electronic copy of a Photo Booth image, just email us at the studio. See a sample of some of our favorites here.

We look forward to celebrating with you all again next year!

Gamut One Studios covers the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association 2010 Summit

Bill Bartlett and Dewey Koshenina photographed over 40 sessions, keynote speakers and evening social events for the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association this past week. The Summit was held at the Minneapolis Hilton and included Baratunde Thurston from The Onion as keynote speaker.  MIMA is the oldest interactive marketing association in the country and a great organization that we have enjoyed partnering with for several years. Congratulations to MIMA on another great Summit! Check out the related article in City Pages.
