XLVIII G1 – 4th Annual Super Bowl Party

Year number four, here we go!  Last year was a blast, great food, great friends and a ton of fun as we watched the Harbaugh brothers battle it out.  This year we hope the lights will stay on (at the stadium) and we’ll all be warmer than everyone at the big game!

Tailgating starts at 3pm and don’t forget to bring some non-perishable food items to help support the wonderful work of the Groveland Emergency Food Shelf.

Of course we’ll have the big game projected up in HD on our 35 ft. cove wall. There will be games, prizes and bring the kids to jump around in the inflatable obstacle course. Taste, enjoy, and vote on the abundance of homemade selections of chili, as we compete again for the coveted G1 Chili Pepper Award.  Can Greg be the first to repeat as Chili Champion?

Help our preparations with a RSVP on our party page.  We can’t wait to see everyone again!

Halloween meets Winter Olympics

What do clowns, cowboys, Twinkie the Kid and even Donkey Kong all have in common?
They were among the over 450 participants that raced in the Bedrace for Bridging event on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013. The 15th annual fundraiser at Buck Hill was another huge success and Gamut One Studios was there to capture it all.

Bridging, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the greater Twin Cities, is the largest furniture bank in North America. Providing furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty, Bridging gives hope–and for many–a leap toward financial stability for the first time.

The 15th annual Bedrace for Bridging brought in $80,000 which will greatly help local families and individuals in need!

The event is like Halloween meets the Winter Olympics — a fun, exciting event with everyone in costume racing down the tubing hill competing to be one of the three team finalists. A team is made up of four riders and you must stay on the mattress for the entire ride down the hill or you are disqualified.

There were 113 teams competing to take home a trophy, either for the race or the most coveted honor of “Best Costume.” Cities 97 radio personalities and producers cast the silent votes for the top 3 best Costumes. Brian Oake announced the winners.

Fran Heitzman, founder of Bridging addressed the crowd in the Buck Stone Lodge with an enthusiastic expression of gratitude. He told everyone that “when good people get together, we can do good things“.  Sara Sternberger, executive director of Bridging, is pictured with Fran and of course the Subway Sandwich dude.

The party continued in the Buck Stone Lodge with live music by Meatsauce and The Whalers followed by The Chris Hawkey Band.

G1 Studios’ photographers at this event were Greg Kamin and Jeff Schmieg.  Till next year… think about getting your bedrace team together and help support this great local charity.

A “Raven”ous Crowd at the 3rd Annual G1 Super Bowl Party

It was a great crowd that packed G1 Studios for our 3rd Annual Super Bowl Party. The fans came to enjoy great food, wine, beer and overwhelmingly cheered for the Baltimore Ravens… or maybe it was just against the 49ers (and Randy Moss).

We truly enjoy hosting this party for you: our clients, friends, and family. We are especially grateful for YOUR help and generosity in making this party and benefit a success!

This year we supported the Catalyst Foundation. Whether you donated silent auction items, bid on auctions, bought raffle tickets, or helped with the party — Thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of so many who are in need.

All together you helped us raise almost $750!

The crowd brought their appetite to enjoy our large selection of appetizers including over 850 meatballs, 250 hotdogs, 100 brats, Cathy’s famous mushrooms, countless desserts and of course the tasty array of chili.

Annual Chili Cook-Off

Greg Kamin took home the Golden Chili Pepper Award this year. It came down to less than 10 votes that separated 1st and 2nd place (Dewey’s Hawaiian Chicken Chili). Greg calls his winning recipe an “homage to Wisconsin” with his Jalapeno & Cheddar Brat Chili. Previous years winners were Dewey (2012) and Bill (2011).

V.I.P Lounge

Many bid, but only a few could win for the coveted seating in the V.I.P. Lounge. Thanks for your support in this fund raiser!

Kristin Baur and family won the 1st quarter seating for the V.I.P. seating.

We look forward to seeing you back at the next party!

Pick ‘Em Challenge Winner

Many entered, but only 1 could win the G1 Studios 2012 Pick ‘Em Challenge contest. Congratulations to Roger Kadrlik who picked the Patriots to win the AFC Championship and the NY Giants to win the NFC Championship.

Roger won a movie family pack of tickets and a concessions gift card. When told about his winning prize, Roger said, ” We haven’t been to the movies in a long time. Maybe we’ll even take the grand kids.”

We are now just 2 weeks away from the big game which is a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. In that 2008 battle, the Giants defeated the Patriots 17-14, giving the Patriots their only loss of that season. The Patriots will be seeking vengeance. Can they pull it off?

Come to Gamut One Studios for the party starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 5th. We have invited clients, friends and family. If you have not replied yet, be sure to check your email as we just sent out a reminder RSVP.  Your RSVP today will help us plan with food and beverage numbers.

G1 Super Bowl Party: Cheers & Cheese Heads

On February 6, 2011, Super Bowl XLV broke the audience record ratings with 111 million viewers. Gamut One Studios took part in this event as host to over 120 of our friends, family and wonderful clients, at our studio in Edina.

The kick-off party was more than just for the big game; it was to give thanks to our supporters for a great start to our re-branding as Gamut One Studios or “G1 Studios.”

The party and the thrill of the NFC North, brought out the Packer fans inside many of the best Viking fans, who won’t yet admit it. With a 31-25 Packer victory over the Steelers, the tightly contested game kept everyone glued to our 22 ft. HD screen, projected on our cove wall.

In true “tailgating” style, we filled the back of a pickup truck with two kegs of Summit Pale Ale, bottles of Michelob Golden Draft and parked it in our 10,000 sq. ft. studio. Fans cozied up on sofas, settled in at pub tables or parked themselves on their own lawn chairs.

The half time show brought out many dancers, both young and young at heart. Cathy Monsoor, studio manager, lead the charge to the front of the projection screen as she was compelled by the rhythmic dance beats of Black Eyed Peas’ hit song “I Gotta Feeling.”

Cathy, donning her Jared Allen jersey, could be heard from the dance floor, “This is for all the Viking fans, who may never see our team in the Super Bowl!”

We wanted to create an environment where families could all enjoy this evening together. What better way than a  36 ft. inflated obstacle course for the kids? The kids raced, jumped, bounced and piled up on each other and everyone had a blast.

Many kids also tested out their passing skills at the “Aaron Rodgers Passing Challenge” game. Kids as young as four, attempted to complete a pass with a Nerf® football to the receiver “Donald Driver.” Parents ought to be proud. There is a good deal of talent on the horizon!

It wouldn’t be a party without food and we had plenty. The hearty menu included meatballs, veggies, hot dogs, nachos, beef-wrapped pickles and of course, seven varieties of cheese. We also want to thank so many of you who contributed to the plethora of desserts. We are still enjoying the sweets.

Most popular of all our fare, was our chili cook off. Congratulations to Bill Bartlett, who takes home the first “Golden Chili Pepper” trophy for his winning recipe. The award ceremony will take place in late March of 2011. G1 Blog readers will be the first to get the announcement.

Among the eight entries, including chicken, turkey, and beef chili, Bartlett’s was the only sirloin steak recipe. Many in the competition complained to the judges and even confronted Bartlett at half time about his meat selection, but Bill’s only reply was, “Why wouldn’t you go with sirloin? I want that golden pepper trophy and I won’t let chicken or turkey get in my way!”

Everyone had a chance to put on their silly face or foam cheese hat and ham it up for our Photo Booth. We filled our magnetic wall with some of these great shots. Next time you’re at the studio, check it out.

We plan to make this an annual party for the Super Bowl. There’s no telling who will be playing, but we know it will be fun because of all the great people we work with everyday.
